Due to an unprecedented number of referees being available for this tournament each referee team only received 1 or 2 games and some of them being standby.

If you would like to do more games, you may stop by the referee tent after you know your teams placement for finals, we will need a few individual as Assistant referees for these games.

Please remember to check in at the referee tent before your games.

AYSO Area 11/K is proud to anounce the 2010 Beach Bash Tournament
ScopeOpen to AYSO teams and players registered for the Fall 2009 season from all Sections.
WhenSaturday and Sunday, May 22nd and 23rd, 2010 - Rain Date June 5-6, 2010.
WhereThe tournament will be held at Huntington Beach Sports Complex-Central Park in Huntington Beach, California. See the maps page for a Google map to the site.

There is a $1 charge for all day parking, each day! Bring dollar bills; no change is available. Alert your parents and their families. No pets are allowed at fields.

WhatPool play tournament. Each team will be guaranteed 3 games in pool play. The top teams will advance to the medal round on Sunday afternoon. All pool games will be as follows: U-16, U-14 and U-12: 50 min. U-10 40 min. All finals matches will be the same times as pool play.
WhyThe AYSO Area 11 K Tournament is being conducted as a fundraiser by Area 11/K to raise funds to support Referee, Coaches and Volunteer training programs, and other services to support regions within Area 11/K.
AwardsAll players and two coaches per team will receive a tournament pin. All players on the 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th place teams will receive a medal.
Entry Fee, Refunds$450 for U-16 thru U-12; $425 for U-10. A full refund will be issued if the tournament is canceled and cannot be rescheduled. If a team withdraws 30 or more days before the tournament a full refund is given. Within 30 days of the tournament no refund is provided unless a replacement team is found.
Referee Fee, Refunds$250, refundable within 14 days of the tournament, if referee assignments have been completed. Each team is asked to provide a qualified 3-person referee team to cover 3 games during the tournament. Partial refunds will be given based upon the number of game slots completed.
RulesA full set of tournament rules is posted below.
AcceptanceThe application deadline is April 26, 2010. All teams will be notified within 48 hours of the application deadline or receipt of application (whichever is latest) as to their status. Teams that are not accepted will be given the option to have their complete application returned or to be placed on the waiting list.
HowTeam entry applications and all necessary forms will be available on the tournament website. Please send one region check that covers both the Entry and Referee fees along with the tournament application, referee information form, and team roster to the Tournament Registrar address below. The Regional Commissioner must sign application and team roster. The Regional Referee Administrator must sign referee information form. See referee form, below, for details.

Various documents are available in Microsoft Word 2003 that need to be filled out and sent to the tournament for your team to be included in the tournament. It will be greatly appreciated if you will use Word to fill out these documents as opposed to handwriting in the the information.

The field map does not show where fields 8, 9 and 10 are. Here is a description:

  • Field 8: Labeled Small Field, immediately west of field # 5.
  • Field 9: Labeled Turf field # 2. Southwest / Northeast orientation. Immediately west of "Small Field", aka Field 8.
  • Field 10: Labeled Turf Field # 1. North / South orientation. Immediatley north of field # 4.

Accommodations: Area 11/K has arranged a good deal at the Double Tree Hotel. See the flyer (168 kB) for more information. You may make reservations at this site.

If you do choose to stay at the Double Tree, the directions to the tournament site are:

  • Drive north on Hutton Center Drive to E MacArthur Blvd.
  • Turn east, right, on E Macarthur Blvd and immediately get on the 55 Freeway going south.
  • Immediately get on the 405 / San Diego freeway going to Los Angeles (Your other choice is San Diego, this is bad!)
  • Travel west and north west toward Los Angeles. You will pass exits to Harbor Blvd, Euclid St. and Brookhurst St. Get in the right lane.
  • Get off of the freeway onto Warner going west.
  • Take Warner west. You will pass Magnolia, Newland, Beach Blvd, Nichols, Gothard St. (Ocean View High school on the south west corner). Get in the left lane.
  • At Goldenwest St. (Home Depot on south east corner) turn south, left.
  • You will pass Slater Ave. and go up a slight hill. At the top of the hill, at the signal light, is Talbert, the entrance to Huntington Beach Library. Pass this entrance.
  • The next entrance to the east, left, is the parking lot for the Huntington Beach Sports complex. Have a dollar bill ready to purchase your parking pass after you park your car.

Estimated driving time is 30 minutes.

Region 5 holds the HI 5 Tournament usually the first weekend of the year.

Region 177 holds the Beach Classic tournament in Feb.

Outside of Area K but within Section 11 are additional tournaments:
